The Church was established in year 1837.
The church was erected to the Glory of God, And in memory of missionaries who laboured in the Quilon District during the period of year 1821 to 1898.
Also Late Rev. James Chales Thomson is remembered for his contribution as third missionary of the London Missionary Society in Quilon. He was born in 4th January 1804 in Morton, White Hoese, Tweed Mouth, Durham, England. He arrived in Quilon in 1827. He read, expounded, prayed, preached and catechised in Malayalam. And established this church on Sunday, 3rd September 1837. He died on 18th may 1850 and his mortal remains lie buried under the church.
