The church is situated in Padavarad Junction which is part of Ollur eastern region. The church is in left side of Ollur to Kuttanallur road. The church is around 8 km distant from Thrissur Sakthan Thampuran bus stand, and 2 km from Ollur junction.
The church is in the name of St. Thomas. It is a Roman Catholic church under Syro Malabar Catholic Church.
The church has a tall facade with a multiple story architecture.

The Padavarad and nearby area was part of Ollur parish.
A new church was built and a separate parish was formed in around year 1972. Fr. Joseph Kizhakkum Thala was the first vicar of this church, and his contribution for making this church a reality is remembered.
The facade was rebuilt around year 2010.
