This church is a major shrine in Kerala in the name of St. Joseph. The feast of St. Joseph is celebrated in every year enthusiastically. People come here from all over Thrissur and nearby districts on the feast day.
The church is situated in Pavaratty. It is around 18 KM west-noth of Thrissur town. Visitors can reach the church through Thrissur-Parappur-Pavaratty route or Thrissur-Kanjani-Pavaratty route. It is around 7 KM distant from Kunnamkulam and 4 KM from Guruvayoor.
The parish has around 1700 families. This is a Roman Catholic Church under the Syro Malabar Church.
